Ok I did get the tile in but both pallets two different dyelots, now this wouldn’t have been a big deal but as a “salesperson” I told them the difference between dyelots, actually trying to do something good. I told the customer this so they tore up there whole house carpet on my word.

I checked the po and it was going to be here on the 13th, today. No problem the customer bought and I told my DH to order the 2 pallets. To make a long story short, a week and 1/2 ago I sold 40 cartons of tile to a customer, explaining that I should order it so I get the same dyelot. Both untruths but necessary to get through the day. Or, you run down the hospital corridor to get your Grandmother a pint of milk from the corner store of 50 years ago. This could be in any situation, like “I am sorry that tile is taking a little longer because it is coming from Texas instead of California”. It’s not lying so much as it is that stuff happens that is not your fault and you have done everything possible to take care of someone, and it just doesn’t happen. Shit happens and customers don’t understand. It is a “what you don’t know won’t hurt you” type situation. A girl that I work with jokes that if you see us as a puddle in the middle of the floor it is because God struck us down for lying to customers, but that is the job. Wait there was one girl…I want to give a shout out to Selena!!! She was the best expeditor that I ever met, hard to work with (crazy) but I sold over a million a year at ProSource, so thank you Selena.Īnd me, I would trust me with your flooring job. I work alone. I wish I could trust someone else to take care of these “after the sale issues”. I look the customer in the face and tell them “I will take care of you”. I still have not worked at a company that I did not have to follow-up on every sale. This does not come without a price!!! The more you sell, the more you work, the back-end.
